SPRINT PROJECT OVERVIEW

The project aims to create a visually striking, fast-paced website for Dance Academy Aarhus in just one day. The focus is on showcasing creativity, bold design choices, and personal artistic direction, rather than adhering strictly to traditional UX principles. This is an opportunity to let design instincts take the lead, prioritizing unique visual elements, dynamic layouts, and vibrant energy that reflect the spirit of dance.

The Process

Designing a prototype in less than 24 hours

By focusing less on UX considerations and more on visual aesthetics, the project encourages bold design decisions. This approach enables experimentation with color, typography, and imagery.

I selected the Dance Academy Aarhus as my case, as this choice aligned with my desire to explore creative design in an artistic and expressive context.

I conducted a brief competitor analysis to understand existing dance academy websites. This helped me identify common design trends, successful features, and areas for differentiation.

Based on the insights from my analysis, I outlined key elements for the website, including essential pages such as About, Classes, and Contact. This structure ensured that the site would be user-friendly while highlighting the academy’s offerings.

I created a mood board to visualize the overall aesthetic of the website. This board incorporated values, images and colors that captured the energy and spirit of dance, guiding my design choices throughout the project.

I selected vibrant images that conveyed movement and expression. For the color palette, I selected minimal colors — grey, beige, and dark intense tones for contrast — to create a sophisticated yet dynamic look. Typography was selected for its readability and style, aligning with the overall aesthetic of the site.
